Youth/Family Director
Description
Summary: The Director of Youth/Family Ministry must be a spiritually dynamic
person who has a strong vocation for working with youth in grades six through
twelve.
Title: Youth/Family Director
Accountability:
The Youth Director shall report directly to the pulpit minister and be accountable
to the Elders.
Primary Responsibilities:
Youth Programs - 100%
- Oversight of Middle school and High school youth programs. These
programs include worship, spiritual development, education, fellowship,
evangelism, missions, leadership training, and other activities designed
to build friendships and a strong connection with other youths in the
congregation.
- Develop positive relationships with parents of youths participating in the
Youth Program and partner with them to enhance the Youth Program
and encourage parents of their responsibility to bring up their children in
the nurture and admonition of the Lord. (Ephesians 6:4)
- Write a monthly article in "The Central Message" describing the youth
activities for the month.
- To develop and execute Bible study programs.
- Maintain a regular office and activity schedule as approved by the pulpit
minister and elders.
- Assist the appointed deacon in the annual "Lads to
Leaders/Leaderettes" program and Vacation Bible School.
- Assist others at weekly congregational meetings.
- To connect youth with the life of the church and community and to make
them more visible in church life.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent
- Experience in building youth and educational programs.
- Sound base of biblical knowledge.
- Strong inspirational speaking skills desirable.
- Mentoring skills preferable.
- Song leading is also a preferable skill.

- Ability to build personal relationships with the young members of the
church.
- Commitment to biblical Christian principles and teachings.
- Christian role model for youth to help develop leadership qualities and
personal development.
- Able to recruit, train, encourage, support and coach volunteer teams of
other members of the congregation to assist in the youth program.
- Prefer a married person.
- Expect a long term commitment.
- Salary will be based upon experience and qualifications.
