What we Value as a Church Family
At Central, we value and uphold the two greatest commandments that Christ gives us. Matthew 22.37-49 "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'"
We strive to allow our love for God and others to be the driving force behind our ministries, Worship, and relationships with one another. We do not claim to be perfect; however, we serve the perfect Savior whose life, sacrifice, and love serve as our example.
We desire to be a people whose love reflects the kingdom of Heaven in every way. So, when you come to Central on Sunday, you'll meet some of the most incredible people in Cleveland. They are people just like you. Some of them will be in suits, and some will be in jeans, but we will all worship our God together.
We always start our Worship with a reading from God's Word and Prayer. We believe it is significant that we are reminded of the importance of reading God's Word aloud. You'll also notice that we often stand as God's Word is read. We do this out of reverence.
You won't see any instruments or bands on stage, just one of our song leaders leading us as we speak songs of praise to our God for who he is and all he has done. It is a time of praise and encouragement for one another as you hear our voices in harmony.
We will also have a time where we share in communion. We do this every first day of the week as the early church did. As you come into the building, you'll notice communion packs on the white tables/ feel free to get your communion as you come in. During communion, we reflect on what Jesus did for us through his ministry, the cross, and His resurrection. We remember that he gave his body for us and that his blood continually cleanses us from our sins.
We will also hear a message from the Bible that will help you in your daily life. We readily admit that we all fall short of what God wants from us, and so these weekly reminders help us stay strong in our faith and help us remember the Spirit of God in us that fights for us.
In everything, we strive to be transformational in our daily growth, sacred in our Worship, authentic in our relationships, and uphold our love for God and others.
